Molecular Cloud Barnard 68

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Barnard 68 is a dark molecular cloud in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is so dense with dust and gas that it blocks almost all visible light from stars behind it. This makes it look like a hole in the sky. These dark clouds are some of the coldest and most isolated places in the universe, and they are where new stars are born.
