Mjølnir: Impact Crater

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Earth's Moon is covered in craters from a history of impacts by solar system debris. Earth has endured similar bombardment, but oceans, weathering, and geological activity have erased many scars. This false-color image, created from seismic data, shows a recently discovered ringed structure on the floor of the Barents Sea. This 24-mile-wide feature is the Mjølnir impact crater, a record of an ancient collision.
