Kepler Discovers How Planets Move

Johannes Kepler, building on Tycho Brahe's meticulous observations, revolutionized our understanding of planetary motion. He formulated three laws describing how planets move around the Sun. These laws state that planets orbit in ellipses, sweep out equal areas in equal times, and that a planet's orbital period is related to its distance from the Sun. Kepler's work laid the foundation for Newton's law of universal gravitation.
