COSMIC MESSAGE
The blur from Earth's atmosphere usually prevents astronomers from seeing individual stars near the center of globular cluster NGC 6934. The Gemini North telescope took this picture from the ground. In infrared light, Gemini used its adaptive optics mirrors to resolve stars even near the cluster's center. NGC 6934 is a fifteen-billion-year-old ball of hundreds of thousands of stars.
