Voyager 2 flew by Neptune in 1989, finding active weather on a planet that gets little sunlight. It recorded radio pulses, cloud bands, and storm systems with winds up to 1,500 miles per hour. Neptune is the Solar System's outermost gas giant, thirty times farther from the Sun than Earth.
