The surface of Io, Jupiter's innermost large moon, is covered in active volcanoes. Zal Patera, seen here, is a volcanic depression about 25 miles across. Io is the most volcanically active body in the solar system, constantly resurfacing itself with lava flows and plumes. This image was captured by the Galileo spacecraft during its mission to Jupiter.
