Jupiter's Moons Thebe, Amalthea, and Metis

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Galileo spacecraft, in orbit around Jupiter, recently photographed Jupiter's inner moons: Thebe, Amalthea, and Metis. These pictures show details as small as three kilometers across. Amalthea, for example, has a total length of about 200 kilometers. These moons are mostly ice, much smaller than Jupiter's more famous Galilean satellites, and orbit between Io and Jupiter.
