COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet C/1999 S4 LINEAR was rapidly approaching Earth and the Sun in July 2000. This time-lapse sequence, taken from Arizona, shows the comet's movement over just 19 minutes. Discovered by the LINEAR project, it was hoped to become visible to the naked eye later that month.
