The Galactic Center Across the Infrared
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The heart of our Milky Way Galaxy, usually hidden by dust in visible light, revealed in infrared. This image combines data from the 2MASS and MSX Galactic surveys, showing three increasingly red bands of near-infrared light. Infrared light penetrates the dust, allowing us to see the stars and structures at the galactic center.
