NGC 1850 is a large star cluster in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way, about 166,000 light-years away. This Hubble image shows different populations of stars: yellowish stars are about 50 million years old, while the brighter white stars are younger, around 4 million years old, and emit strongly in ultraviolet light.
