This simulated image shows what the gamma-ray sky might look like to the GLAST telescope. It models gamma rays with over 40 million times the energy of visible light. Familiar stars are absent from this view, which looks away from the galactic center. Instead, pulsars like Geminga and the Crab Nebula, spinning stellar corpses, are prominent.
