Tycho Brahe, living between 1546 and 1601, was a meticulous observer. He set out to determine whether the Earth or the Sun was at the center of the Solar System. Brahe and his team built the first major astronomical observatory and compiled precise measurements of planetary positions, all before the invention of the telescope.
