Abell 1795: A Galaxy Cluster's Cooling Flow

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Galaxies often gather in immense clusters, like Abell 1795, which spans millions of light-years. These clusters are immersed in tenuous clouds of hot gas that glow strongly in X-rays. This Chandra Observatory X-ray image shows the gas in Abell 1795 appears to be cooling, forming a cooling flow.
