COSMIC MESSAGE
The Great Nebula in Orion, M42, is a region of young stars, hot gas, and dark dust. This image, a composite of near-infrared light from the VLT's ISAAC instrument, reveals the busy stellar nursery. The Trapezium, four bright stars at its heart, powers much of the nebula, illuminating the surrounding gas.
