A photographer in Paris captured this image of a jet airplane silhouetted against the Sun. This was the culmination of many attempts to photograph such a transit. The image, taken in hydrogen-alpha light, shows the plane crossing directly in front of the solar disk, highlighting the Sun's intricate surface details.
