NGC 1850: Not Found in the Milky Way

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 1850 is a star cluster in the Large Magellanic Cloud, our neighboring galaxy, about 168,000 light-years away. This Hubble Space Telescope image shows a cluster of young stars, which gives it a size and shape similar to the ancient globular clusters found in the Milky Way. However, NGC 1850's youth makes it a unique type of star cluster not seen in our own galaxy.
