Planetary nebula Jones-Emberson 1 is what is left of a star like our Sun. It is about 1,600 light-years away in the constellation Lynx. The expanding remnant of the star's atmosphere is about 4 light-years across, shed after billions of years. At its center is a blue-hot white dwarf, the remains of the stellar core.
