This composite image combines 22 separate pictures of the Moon and Sun, all taken from Chisamba, Zambia. They were captured during the total phase of the June 21, 2001, solar eclipse. Digital processing combined the exposures to show details no single camera or naked eye could reveal. The incredible flowing streamers of the Sun's outer atmosphere, the solar corona, are most striking.
