NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Tupan Patera is one of the volcanoes currently active on Jupiter's moon Io. This vista, provided by the robot spacecraft Galileo, reveals a strange and dangerous place. Hot black lava, warm red sulfur deposits from vented gas, and hilly yellow terrain high in sulfur are all visible. Tupan Patera is named after a Brazilian thunder god.
