Voyager Views Titan's Haze

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Twenty-five years after its launch, Voyager 1 looked back at Titan, Saturn's largest moon. This false-color image from 1980 shows layers of orange and blue haze in Titan's atmosphere, which is denser than Earth's. It is mostly nitrogen, with some methane, and extends thousands of miles above the surface.
