Leonids from Leo

COSMIC MESSAGE

Meteors from the Leonid shower appear to originate from the constellation Leo. This happens every November as Earth passes through the debris trail of Comet Tempel-Tuttle. The sand-sized particles burn up in our atmosphere, creating the streaks of light we call meteors. This all-sky photo captures the phenomenon, with Leo visible on the left.
