The Andromeda Deep Field

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Andromeda Deep Field image, captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, is the deepest visible light exposure ever taken of the Andromeda galaxy. By staring into the galaxy's halo for over three days, astronomers aimed to determine the true ages of its stars. The image revealed not only individual stars, but also globular clusters and distant background galaxies.
