NASA APOD · Mike Holloway
COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet C/2002 T7 (LINEAR), discovered in October 2002, was predicted to outshine most stars by May 2004. By February 2004, it was already brighter than magnitude 7 and visible with binoculars, showing a tail nearly the length of a full Moon. Predicting a comet's future brightness is difficult, so it may or may not reach its predicted peak.
