COSMIC MESSAGE

Andromeda, also known as M31, is the nearest major galaxy to our Milky Way. It is thought to look much like our own galaxy. The diffuse light comes from hundreds of billions of stars, while the distinct stars surrounding it are actually within our own galaxy. Andromeda and the Milky Way dominate the Local Group of galaxies.
