The Trifid Nebula from Hubble

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Trifid Nebula, also known as M20, is a young star-forming region in Sagittarius. Clouds of glowing gas mix with dark dust lanes, which converge in the center to give the nebula its name. Opaque dust mountains appear on the right, and dust filaments thread throughout. A single massive star near the center illuminates much of the Trifid, which is only about 300,000 years old.
