COSMIC MESSAGE
The Moon's apparent size changes throughout its orbit. The Moon on the left, at third quarter, was photographed near apogee, its farthest point from Earth. The Moon on the right, at first quarter, was photographed near perigee, its closest point. Both images were taken with the same telescope and camera, showing how much the Moon's distance affects its size in our sky.
