COSMIC MESSAGE

Last week, Venus, Mercury, and Saturn gathered close in the western evening sky. This snapshot, taken by astronomer R. Jay GaBany from Lick Observatory on Mt. Hamilton, California, captures their conjunction. The view looks toward the Pacific shortly after sunset, with the lights of San Jose in the foreground. Venus shines brightest, with Mercury nearby to its right and Saturn a bit further.
