COSMIC MESSAGE

Hickson Compact Group 87 is a collection of galaxies about four hundred million light-years away in Capricornus. The large edge-on spiral and the fuzzy elliptical galaxy are group members. A smaller spiral in the middle is likely a background galaxy. Deep images show signs of gravitational interaction between these closely packed galaxies.
