Reflections on the Inner Solar System

NASA APOD · Jimmy Westlake (Colorado Mountain College)
COSMIC MESSAGE

This twilight photo from Colorado shows Mercury, Venus, Earth, and the Moon, with Mars being the only inner solar system body missing. The Moon is a young crescent, about three degrees above bright Venus. Smoke from forest fires creates a haze, almost obscuring Mercury, which is low on the horizon.
