47 Tucanae, also known as NGC 104, is the second brightest globular star cluster orbiting our Milky Way galaxy. It contains hundreds of thousands of stars, tightly packed together. This image was among the first observations made by the new 10-meter Southern African Large Telescope, or SALT, showcasing its capabilities in capturing distant, dense stellar populations.
