COSMIC MESSAGE
The Andromeda Galaxy, M31, is the most distant object easily visible to the unaided eye. Spanning over 200,000 light-years, it is some two million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. Telescopes reveal its bright yellow nucleus, dark dust lanes, and blue spiral arms, all invisible without aid.
