Inside the Eagle Nebula

COSMIC MESSAGE
From a distance, the Eagle Nebula looks like a bird, but up close, it's a window into a star-forming region. Inside this cavity, tall pillars and round globules of dark dust and cold gas remain. These are places where stars are still forming, while young, bright blue stars nearby are already burning away the surrounding material.
