Something unusual is happening in a small portion of the sky toward the constellation Aries. On February 18, 2006, the Swift satellite detected an unusual transient glowing dimly in gamma rays. Dubbed GRB 060218, it is a type of gamma-ray burst, but its brightness changes in a very unusual way. Telescopes around the globe are tracking this mysterious object as it changes day by day.
