Moonquakes Surprisingly Common

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Reanalysis of seismometer data from the Apollo missions revealed a surprising number of moonquakes, 28 between 1972 and 1977. These quakes occurred within 30 kilometers of the lunar surface and were strong enough to cause vibrations. Unlike Earthquakes, the Moon's stiff rock continued to vibrate for many minutes.
