Stars and Dust Across Corona Australis
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
A sprawling cosmic dust cloud lies less than 500 light-years away in Corona Australis, the Southern Crown. This dense cloud, about 8 light-years long, effectively blocks light from more distant Milky Way stars. At its tip are several blue nebulae, NGC 6726, 6727, 6729, and IC 4812, whose characteristic color comes from starlight reflecting off the dust.
