A Total Solar Eclipse over Turkey

NASA APOD · Stefan Seip
COSMIC MESSAGE

Some views of a total solar eclipse are better than others. This spectacular view was captured over Adrasan, Turkey, during the March 29, 2006, event. The digital mosaic shows the Moon in several stages as it moved between the Earth and the Sun. During the central frame, the Moon completely blocked the Sun, the area became dark, and the corona became visible.
