COSMIC MESSAGE

The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) is a dwarf irregular galaxy, a satellite of our Milky Way. It is about 180,000 light-years distant, easily visible to observers in the southern hemisphere. Portuguese navigator Fernando de Magellan and his crew studied it during their circumnavigation of Earth.
