Colorful Moon Mosaic
This dramatic composite view highlights both faint stars and the subtle colors of the Moon. It combines fifteen high-resolution images of a gibbous Moon with a background star field. The fascinating color differences on the lunar surface are real, though exaggerated, and correspond to regions with different chemical compositions. These colors are not visible to the naked eye.
