What is that pale blue dot in this image taken from Saturn? It is Earth. The robotic Cassini spacecraft looked back towards its home world, using Saturn itself to block the bright Sun. The faint dot, expanded in the inset, shows a slight elongation in the direction of Earth's Moon. Vast water oceans make Earth's reflection of sunlight somewhat blue.
