COSMIC MESSAGE

Comet SWAN, designated C/2006 M4, was discovered in 2006 using data from the Solar Wind Anisotropies instrument on the SOHO spacecraft. This image shows the comet with a bright blue-green coma and a visible tail. It became bright enough to be seen with binoculars in the northern sky.
