COSMIC MESSAGE
Artist and astronomer Mark Seibold created this pastel sketch of Mercury transiting the Sun. He observed both the 1999 and 2006 transits through solar-filtered telescopes. The artwork shows Mercury as a tiny disk, seemingly hovering in the Sun's photosphere near its edge.
