NASA APOD · Michael Jager and Gerald Rhemann
COSMIC MESSAGE

Comet McNaught was visible to early morning risers in January 2007, heading towards the Sun. Discovered by R. H. McNaught, the comet grew bright enough to see with the unaided eye. It was expected to be lost in the Sun's glare but would be visible to sun-staring spacecraft like SOHO.
