The Orion Nebula and the Horsehead Nebula are prominent features in Orion, 1,500 light-years away. This composite image, filtered to show hydrogen emission, reveals fainter filaments of glowing gas throughout the region. These nebulosities are part of the vast Orion Molecular Cloud complex, which spans hundreds of light-years.
