COSMIC MESSAGE
This dramatic image shows a dark red Moon during a total lunar eclipse, an event enjoyed by many across Earth. Captured near Wildon, Austria, the picture is a composite of two exposures. A short exposure highlights the lunar surface, and a longer one captures background stars in the constellation Leo. Even fully within Earth's shadow, the Moon is still illuminated by sunlight refracted through our planet's atmosphere.
