Touran Sunrise

On Monday, clouds covered the eastern horizon over the Touran Wildlife Reserve in northeastern Iran as the Sun rose. On that day, the Moon also rose with the Sun, creating a partial solar eclipse. The mountainous horizon and cloud cover gave this eclipse sunrise a dramatic look, allowing astronomer Babak Tafreshi to capture these telephoto images without a filter.
