COSMIC MESSAGE
This wide nightscape, taken from Patagonia, Argentina, shows the southern Milky Way arching across the sky. It features our two irregular satellite galaxies, the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. The image, captured on January 28, also includes the broad tail of Comet McNaught, which was a spectacular sight in the southern hemisphere.
