NASA APOD · Karen Wehrstein
COSMIC MESSAGE

This is an artist's guess of a sunrise on Gliese 581c, an exoplanet 20 light-years away. Gliese 581c is much more massive than Earth and orbits its red dwarf star much closer than Mercury orbits our Sun. It is one of the most Earth-like planets found, residing in its star's habitable zone where liquid water could exist.
