Messier 65 is a spiral galaxy, the 65th object in Charles Messier's catalog. It is part of the Leo Triplet, a group of three large spiral galaxies about 35 million light-years away. This image shows its tightly wound spiral arms and dust lanes, leading into a core of older, yellowish stars.
