COSMIC MESSAGE
M3, a globular star cluster, is an immense ball of half a million stars, older than our Sun. It lies over 30,000 light-years away, one of about 150 such clusters roaming the Milky Way's halo. Individual stars are hard to distinguish in its dense core, but colors are apparent for bright stars on its outskirts.
