NASA APOD · Franck Bugnet
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Crescent Nebula, also known as NGC 6888, was created by the bright, massive star WR 136 at its center. This Wolf-Rayet star sheds its outer layers in a strong stellar wind, losing the equivalent of our Sun's mass every 10,000 years. The nebula is about 25 light-years across and lies in the constellation Cygnus.
